research Long-Term Efficacy and Safety of Ritlecitinib in Adults and Adolescents with Alopecia Areata: 3-Year Results from the ALLEGRO Phase 2b/3 and ALLEGRO-LT Phase 3 Clinical Studies
The study assessed the long-term efficacy and safety of ritlecitinib in 191 patients aged ≥12 years with alopecia areata and significant scalp hair loss over 3 years. Results showed that 65.1% of patients achieved a SALT score ≤20, indicating significant hair regrowth, and 31.2% achieved complete scalp hair regrowth. The treatment was well-tolerated, with a safety profile consistent with previous studies. Factors such as female sex, White race, and shorter duration of hair loss were associated with better treatment response. These findings support the long-term use of ritlecitinib for severe alopecia areata in patients aged ≥12 years.
