Ex vivo experiments confirmed increased levels of cytokeratin 10 and claudin-1, indicating enhanced epidermal maturation. A clinical trial with 39 adults demonstrated that SMosE improved skin hydration, reduced transepidermal water loss, and regulated sebum levels after 28 days of use. These findings suggest that SMosE could be a promising ingredient for dermatological and cosmetic applications.
