Patients were divided into two groups, with Group A receiving tofacitinib and Group B receiving minoxidil. Efficacy was measured by a ≥50% reduction in the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score. Results showed that 86.2% of patients in the tofacitinib group achieved efficacy compared to 62.1% in the minoxidil group, with a significantly greater mean SALT score reduction in the tofacitinib group. The study concluded that oral tofacitinib is more effective than oral minoxidil in reducing disease severity and achieving higher treatment response rates in alopecia areata patients.
