November 1985 in “Archives of Dermatology” The newborn's skin blisters healed without scarring, leaving some light spots, and stopped forming after four months.
August 2026 in “Bone and Joint Research” The study investigated the effects of tibial cortex transverse transport (TTT) on wound healing in a type 2 diabetic rat model, using 186 male Sprague-Dawley rats. TTT-treated rats showed complete wound closure by day 21, faster than controls. Histological analysis indicated enhanced re-epithelialization, thicker epidermis, and organized collagen. Immunofluorescence revealed a shift from proinflammatory M1 to reparative M2 macrophages starting day 5. Flow cytometry indicated a surge of non-classical monocytes in bone marrow and blood. Depleting monocytes/macrophages delayed healing and disrupted collagen deposition. The study concludes that TTT accelerates diabetic wound healing through systemic mobilization of non-classical monocytes and increased M2 macrophage polarization, suggesting a mechanically induced immunomodulatory process.
