November 2025 in “Archives of Dermatological Research” This study assessed the effectiveness and safety of two concentrations of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide (TA) in treating scalp patchy alopecia areata in 59 patients. Group A received 5 mg/ml and Group B received 10 mg/ml of TA every 3 weeks for up to 4 sessions. Group B experienced significantly faster hair regrowth, achieving a regrowth scale (RGS) score of 4 (>75% hair regrowth) more quickly than Group A. By 12 weeks, both groups showed comparable efficacy and side effects. The study suggests considering a "step-down" or "step-up" approach with patients to balance faster response with potential side effects.
