tiny reproductive units produced by fungi, bacteria, and plants

Spores are tiny, often single-celled reproductive units produced by fungi, bacteria, algae, and some plants. They are highly resistant to environmental stresses and can remain dormant for long periods, allowing the organism to survive unfavorable conditions. When conditions become favorable, spores can germinate and develop into a new organism.
