TLDR No significant differences in finger ratios or autism scores were found between acne patients and healthy individuals.
This study aimed to compare the 2D:4D digit ratio and autism scores between patients with acne vulgaris and healthy controls to explore the role of androgen exposure in acne pathogenesis. Conducted at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, it involved 104 acne patients and 123 healthy controls aged 18-40. The results showed no significant differences in 2D:4D ratios or autism scores between the acne and control groups, regardless of gender. This study provided new insights into the rarely explored relationship between acne and 2D:4D ratios and was the first to examine the link between acne and autistic traits.
