Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a medicinal plant valued in cosmetic formulations for its rich phytochemical composition and diverse biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties. Its high content of silica, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and saponins contributes to strengthening hair structure, boosting collagen synthesis, and improving skin elasticity. Horsetail extract is utilized in various cosmetic products like creams, gels, serums, and shampoos, demonstrating promising stability and effectiveness. However, challenges remain in standardization, stability, and clinical validation. Overall, horsetail extract holds significant potential for innovative cosmeceutical applications.
