TLDR Ayurvedic treatment can effectively regrow hair in alopecia areata without side effects.
This case study explores the Ayurvedic approach to managing alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder causing patchy hair loss. Conventional treatments often involve corticosteroids, which may have side effects and provide only temporary relief. In contrast, Ayurveda offers a holistic treatment strategy, focusing on eliminating causative factors, purification, and palliative care. The study details a successful treatment protocol involving Nasya with Bindu Taila, Pracchan Karma, and local applications with Eranda Patra and Mahisha Navneet. The patient experienced significant hair regrowth without adverse effects, suggesting that Ayurvedic therapies can be a safe and effective alternative for treating alopecia areata by addressing both symptoms and underlying causes.
