TLDR Ayurvedic treatment successfully managed Alopecia Areata.
The document presents a clinical case report on the Ayurvedic management of Alopecia Areata, known as Indralupta in Ayurvedic texts. This condition involves localized hair loss and is attributed to the obstruction of hair follicles by aggravated Pitta and Vata, along with Kapha-Rakta, which creates an environment conducive to microorganisms that inhibit hair regeneration. While modern treatments like corticosteroids and immunosuppressants are common, they have significant side effects. The report details the Ayurvedic approach to understanding and treating Indralupta, highlighting a successful case where Ayurvedic medicine was used to treat Alopecia Areata effectively.
