TLDR Ayurvedic treatment successfully managed alopecia areata without side effects.
The document presents a clinical case report on the Ayurvedic management of Alopecia Areata, known as Indralupta in Ayurvedic texts. This condition involves localized hair loss and is attributed to the obstruction of hair follicles by aggravated Pitta and Vata, along with Kapha-Rakta, creating an environment conducive to micro-organisms that inhibit hair regeneration. While modern treatments like corticosteroids and immunosuppressants are common, they pose significant side effects. The report details the Ayurvedic approach to treating Indralupta, highlighting a successful case where Ayurvedic medicine was used effectively, offering an alternative with potentially fewer adverse effects.
