TLDR Ayurvedic treatment led to significant hair regrowth in a woman with alopecia areata.
This case report discusses the management of Alopecia Areata in a 30-year-old female using solely Ayurvedic internal interventions. The patient, who had experienced patchy scalp hair loss for four years, was treated with Ayurvedic medications such as Ārogyavardhinī Vaṭi, Kṛmikuṭhāra Rasa, and Raktapācaka Cūrṇa, alongside dietary and lifestyle changes. After 45 days, visible hair regrowth was noted, and by four months, the alopecia patches were largely covered. The patient's Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score improved significantly from 63.4% (S3 grade), with no recurrence observed during a six-month follow-up. This case highlights the potential effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatment in managing alopecia areata by addressing Dosha imbalance, digestive impairment, and blood vitiation.
