TLDR Topical Minoxidil 5% is the most effective treatment for hair loss, especially when combined with other treatments.
This systematic review of 15 articles on androgenetic alopecia (AAG) treatments highlights that oral Dutasteride is more effective than oral Finasteride, though both have significant side effects. Topical Finasteride is a viable option for men with fewer adverse effects. Latanoprost increases hair count, and Cetirizine is effective for maintenance with minimal side effects. Stem cell treatment is comparable to Minoxidil and Finasteride, while Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) promotes hair regeneration. Low-level light therapy (LLLT) is well-tolerated, and topical Minoxidil 5% is the most effective treatment, with enhanced results when combined with other therapies.
