TLDR Caspases affect many cell functions and could help treat various diseases.
Caspases, known for their protease activity, have functions extending beyond cell death and inflammation, influencing cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation, which are linked to various diseases. This paper discusses the importance of using caspase knock-out mice to understand these enzymes' roles in complex biological systems, highlighting their potential as targets for treating inflammatory, neurological, metabolic, and oncological conditions.
