A Discrete Choice Experiment of Clinician Preferences Among Attributes of Approved Janus Kinase Inhibitors for Alopecia Areata

The study explored clinician preferences for Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors in treating alopecia areata (AA) through a discrete choice experiment involving 155 clinicians. The results indicated that the most important treatment attribute was scalp hair regrowth (52.7%), followed by initial hair growth (31.5%), and medication frequency (15.8%). Among the blinded treatment profiles, the deuruxolitinib 8-mg profile (Profile C) was most preferred by 72.2% of clinicians, while the ritlecitinib 50-mg profile (Profile B) was least preferred by 81.9%. Clinicians favored treatments with higher efficacy and quicker onset, regardless of dosing frequency.
