Effect of Carbon Dioxide Laser (10600nm) on Hydroxyproline in Mouse Skin

TLDR CO2 laser treatment may be more effective for skin rejuvenation.
The study investigated the effects of 10600nm CO2 dot laser and Nd: YAG laser on skin aging in mice, focusing on the expression of MMP-1 and TIMP-1 proteins. It involved 45 female Wistar rats divided into 9 groups, with different treatments applied to their back skin. The CO2 laser showed a higher positive expression of MMP-1 and TIMP-1 compared to the Nd: YAG laser, with significant differences observed at 2 weeks post-irradiation. The study concluded that CO2 laser treatment had a more pronounced effect on these proteins, suggesting its potential efficacy in skin rejuvenation.
