TLDR Alternative treatments with nutrients, minerals, and vitamins are being explored for safer hair loss management.
Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common form of hair loss affecting both men and women, with 80% of men and 40-50% of women experiencing it during their lifetimes. The condition is influenced by genetic factors and family history. Currently, the only FDA-approved treatments for AGA are oral finasteride and topical minoxidil, though topical finasteride is still undergoing clinical trials. Despite their effectiveness, concerns about side effects have led to interest in developing alternative treatments, including formulations with nutrients, minerals, and vitamins, to offer safer options for managing AGA.
