TLDR Radiofrequency microneedling is safe and effective for improving various skin conditions.
Radiofrequency microneedling (RFMN) is shown to be a safe and effective treatment for various dermatological conditions, including atrophic acne scars, skin laxity, photoaging, rosacea, melasma, and striae, with results comparable to fractional lasers. The review analyzed 41 studies, including 15 RCTs, and found that RFMN improved skin texture and reduced scar scores, with high patient satisfaction and minimal downtime. While botulinum toxin A was more effective for primary axillary hyperhidrosis, RFMN had a favorable safety profile, with common side effects being erythema, edema, and transient pain. The study highlights the need for standardized outcomes and consistent reporting of technical parameters to enhance treatment protocols.
