TLDR New treatments for epidermolysis bullosa show promise in improving patients' lives, but a cure is still not available.
Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is a severe genetic skin disorder with no current cure, but recent advances in treatment methods, such as gene therapy, protein replacement, and cell therapy, have shown promise in clinical applications. These methods, along with tissue engineering and gene editing, aim to modify the disease and improve patients' quality of life. Although a cure remains elusive, preliminary human trials and animal models have raised hopes for effective management of EB and potentially other genetic diseases.
