TLDR Hair transplantation effectively lowers high foreheads in Asian women, with high satisfaction and no major complications.
The study, conducted over a three-year period, involved 89 Asian female patients who underwent hair transplantation to lower their high frontal hairlines. The patients, aged between 22 and 49 with a mean age of 32.6 years, were followed for over 6 months postoperatively. The satisfaction scores were high, with an average of 4.2 from patients and 4.3 from the surgeon on a 5-point Likert scale. The mean number of grafts used was 1320, and the average forehead shortening was 1.62 cm. No significant complications were reported. The study concluded that hair transplantation is an effective and satisfactory method for lowering the frontal hairline in Asian women with high foreheads, especially those with poor donor hair conditions, although caution is advised for patients with female pattern hair loss.
