Impact of Lisinopril on Cardiometabolic Risk Factors in Men with Hypertension and Early-Onset Androgenetic Alopecia

    The study assessed the impact of lisinopril on cardiometabolic risk factors in 62 young men with grade 1 hypertension, half of whom had early-onset androgenetic alopecia (group A) and the other half had normal hair growth (group B). Over 6 months, lisinopril reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure, urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), and fibrinogen in both groups, but these effects were stronger in group B. Only group B showed reductions in uric acid and homocysteine levels and improved insulin sensitivity. The results suggested that the cardiometabolic benefits of lisinopril were less pronounced in men with early-onset androgenetic alopecia.
