TLDR Ayurvedic treatments successfully regrew hair in a man with alopecia areata.
This case report discusses the Ayurvedic approach to treating Indralupta, an Ayurvedic term for alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune condition causing patchy hair loss. The report highlights a 29-year-old male patient with recurrent alopecia areata who did not respond to conventional treatments. The patient underwent Ayurvedic therapies, including Virechan therapy, Shamana Chikitsa, and Jalaukavacharana (leech therapy), resulting in complete hair regrowth after five months. Notably, visible follicular regrowth was observed within 30 days, and the patient experienced no adverse effects, suggesting the potential effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatments for this condition.
