TLDR The portable LED device speeds up wound healing.
This study evaluated the impact of a portable LED device emitting red light at 632 nm on wound healing in 30 rats. The device, particularly at a higher intensity of 22.2 mW/cm², significantly improved wound closure rates, with 78.4% closure by day 7 and 94.2% by day 10. Histological analysis showed enhanced neoepidermal growth, increased and organized collagen deposition, and higher microvessel density in treated wounds, although VEGF levels remained unchanged. These findings suggest that the portable LED device effectively accelerates wound healing through photobiomodulation, offering a promising tool for therapeutic wound care.
