Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are promising for skin regeneration and rejuvenation due to their immunomodulatory and paracrine signaling properties. They aid wound healing by inhibiting excessive immune activities and secreting growth factors and cytokines. MSCs are easily extracted from bone marrow, adipose tissue, and umbilical cord tissue, making them practical for clinical use. In skin aging, MSCs help by synthesizing collagen and elastin to strengthen the extracellular matrix (ECM) and reducing proteins that break down the ECM. The potential for MSCs in skin care includes standardizing products and protocols, promoting personalized treatments, and ensuring ethical sourcing and safety.
