TLDR 5% minoxidil significantly increases hair follicle density.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of 5% minoxidil therapy on androgenetic alopecia using a mouse model. Mice were induced with testosterone for 10 days and then divided into two groups: a control group and a treatment group receiving 5% minoxidil topically once daily until day 31. On day 32, hair follicle density was assessed. The treatment group showed a significant increase in hair follicle density (40.14) compared to the control group (24.00), with a p-value of less than 0.05, indicating that 5% minoxidil significantly enhances hair follicle density in this model.
