TLDR Rational design strategies are crucial for developing effective nanozymes for anti-inflammatory uses.
This review discusses the development of nanozymes for anti-inflammatory applications, emphasizing the need for rational design strategies over traditional empirical methods. It highlights the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in physiological processes and the potential of nanozymes as alternatives to conventional antioxidants. The review examines four design strategies: biomimetic, experimental laws-driven, computation-driven, and data-driven, analyzing their benefits and limitations. It also explores nanozyme applications in treating inflammatory diseases, disease diagnosis, and environmental uses. The review concludes by addressing the challenges and future prospects in the rational design of nanozymes, offering a comprehensive overview of this emerging research field.
