Understanding the Molecular Landscape of Alopecia Areata: Key Genes, Regulatory Networks, and Therapeutic Targets

    This study on alopecia areata (AA) used bioinformatics to analyze genetic data from the GEO database, identifying 5134 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between healthy individuals and AA patients. Key findings include the identification of 10 hub genes, such as CCL5 and CXCL9, and top transcription factors like ZNF683, which are involved in chemokine signaling and cytokine-cytokine receptor interactions. Additionally, 49 miRNAs were predicted to regulate genes related to AA. These insights into the molecular landscape of AA highlight potential therapeutic targets and enhance understanding of its pathogenesis.
