TLDR Para rubber seed oil helps protect skin from aging caused by sunlight.
The study investigates the potential of para rubber seed oil and its fatty acids in alleviating photoaging and maintaining skin homeostasis. Using cocultures of human HaCaT cells and dermal fibroblasts, the research demonstrates that the oil, standardized in fatty acids, effectively protects against UV-induced damage by significantly suppressing IL-6, IL-8, MMP-1, and MMP-9 secretions. The photoprotection is attributed to its fatty acids, particularly unsaturated C18 ones. The findings suggest that para rubber seed oil is a promising, safe, and effective agent for photoaging treatment, encouraging its use in innovative anti-aging products.
