TLDR Patients were very satisfied with hair regrowth after taking ritlecitinib for alopecia areata.
The study investigated patient satisfaction with hair regrowth in individuals with alopecia areata (AA) treated with ritlecitinib, a medication that inhibits parts of the immune system responsible for hair loss. Conducted as part of the ALLEGRO phase 2b/3 trial, patients were asked to report their satisfaction using the Patient Satisfaction with Hair Growth tool. Participants took ritlecitinib for 12 months or a placebo for 6 months, followed by ritlecitinib for another 6 months. Results showed that patients on ritlecitinib reported higher satisfaction with hair growth compared to those on placebo, with satisfaction levels increasing over time. The satisfaction reported by patients aligned with the hair growth improvements observed by doctors, indicating that ritlecitinib effectively enhances patient satisfaction by promoting hair regrowth.
