The study investigated cognitive functioning in 153 women with diffuse alopecia, categorizing them into six subgroups based on the type of alopecia and presence of maladaptation. It found significant cognitive impairments, such as rapid fatigue, decreased performance, and impaired concentration, particularly in patients with mixed alopecia and adaptation disorders. The study highlights the complexity and nonlinearity of cognitive impairments in alopecia, suggesting a need for further research to explore connections with clinical and psychosocial factors and to develop personalized rehabilitation strategies.
