TLDR Stress significantly contributes to hair loss, especially in women and those aged 31-40.
This cross-sectional study of 1,080 participants in Al Majma'ah, Saudi Arabia, found that 71.3% experienced hair loss, with higher rates in females (78.2%) and those aged 31-40 years (80.6%). Stress was a significant factor, with 73.8% of participants reporting stress, which correlated with increased hair loss severity. Personal relationship problems, financial difficulties, and signs of depression were also linked to higher hair loss rates. The study highlights the need for holistic approaches addressing both physiological and psychological aspects to mitigate hair loss.
