TLDR The supplement did not work better than a placebo for hair loss in women over 60.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted to assess the efficacy of a CYP complex-based dietary supplement in 36 women aged 60+ with telogen effluvium over 6 months. The study found that both the placebo and the active compound significantly improved mean anagen rates, but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. The lack of demonstrated superiority of the active compound over placebo was attributed to the inhomogeneous inclusion of study patients concerning the seasonality of hair growth and shedding, which may have distorted the clinical efficacy results.
