TLDR The serum with microneedling device improves hair loss treatment effectively and safely.
This study developed a triamcinolone acetonide serum combined with a derma stamp microneedling device to enhance the treatment of alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing hair loss. The serum, formulated using propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol 400, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, achieved optimal solubility and texture, with a skin-compatible pH and appropriate viscosity. Physicochemical analyses confirmed stability, while safety was verified through HET-CAM and skin irritation tests. The derma stamp facilitates deeper drug delivery by creating microchannels, overcoming the skin barrier. This approach promises improved therapeutic outcomes in a less invasive and more patient-friendly manner.
