TLDR Upadacitinib effectively treats skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis and is becoming more widely used and affordable.
Upadacitinib, a JAK1 inhibitor, has shown efficacy in treating various dermatological conditions, including atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, since its FDA approval for these uses. A comprehensive review of literature from 2015 to 2025 highlights its effectiveness, increasing real-world application, and cost-effectiveness compared to other treatments. The review includes systematic reviews, randomized controlled trials, and real-world studies, focusing on its use in cutaneous disorders while excluding non-dermatological indications and non-English articles. Upadacitinib's recent generic availability in India further supports its expanding role in dermatologic therapy.
