narrowing of heart arteries due to plaque buildup
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), also known as Coronary Heart Disease (CHD), is a condition where the coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart muscle, become narrowed or blocked due to the buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis). This can lead to reduced blood flow to the heart, causing chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, or more severe outcomes like heart attacks.
