Each patient was treated with the herbal medicine Gagamhwajung-hwan at a Korean Medicine Clinic. The improvements were assessed using photographs and the SALT (Severity of Alopecia Tool) scale. The results indicated that hair loss was completely improved in all patients, and the SALT scale scores decreased. The study concluded that Gagamhwajung-hwan showed potential as a treatment for severe alopecia areata.
