research Role of the Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling Pathway in Mediating Outer Root Sheath Stem Cells to Promote Hair Follicle Regeneration and Skin Wound Healing in Mice
This study investigates the role of outer root sheath (ORS) stem cells in hair follicle regeneration and skin wound healing in mice, focusing on the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Using neonatal mouse hair follicles, the research shows that activation of this pathway enhances the proliferation and differentiation of hair follicle stem cells, promoting hair follicle growth and skin repair. The study demonstrates that transplanted ORS can effectively repair skin wounds and suggests the potential for large-scale hair regeneration from a limited number of stem cells. However, achieving long-term and scalable clinical application of ORS stem cells remains a significant challenge.
