March 2023 in “Science Translational Medicine” Blocking a certain signal in the gp130 receptor can improve tissue healing and lessen osteoarthritis symptoms.
May 2026 in “Global Translational Medicine” The study examined the effects of ethanol extract of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) leaves on lipid profiles and body weight in testosterone-induced benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) rats. Thirty-six rats were divided into six groups, including controls and various treatment groups with clove extract and finasteride. Over 28 days, significant decreases in triacylglycerol, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, and very low-density lipoprotein were observed in the clove-treated groups compared to the BPH control. High-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased significantly in the treatment groups. Additionally, body weight increased in the treatment groups. These results suggest that clove leaf extract has anti-hyperlipidemic effects and may influence body weight by enhancing metabolic activity in BPH conditions.
