This study reveals the crucial interaction between perifollicular capillary vessels and dermal papilla (DP) cells in maintaining hair cycling homeostasis. It was found that capillaries around the DP adapt dynamically, with minoxidil enhancing their mobilization, while aging inhibits it. Vascular endothelial cells promote angiogenic chemokine expression, like CCL2, in DP cells, which is essential for vessel-DP crosstalk. CCL2 expression is cyclic and diminishes with age, and its neutralization impairs vascularization and DP function. These insights highlight the importance of vessel-DP interactions in hair cycling and aging, suggesting potential therapeutic targets for hair loss and skin disorders.
