TLDR Adipose-derived stem cell secretome is a promising and effective treatment for skin repair.
Adipose-derived stem cell (AT-MSC) secretome shows significant promise as a cell-free therapeutic strategy for skin regeneration, including applications in wound healing, alopecia, skin rejuvenation, and inflammatory skin diseases. The secretome contains biomolecules with various beneficial activities, such as immunomodulatory and proangiogenic effects, which support skin cell proliferation and migration. This review highlights the potential advantages of using AT-MSC secretome over whole AT-MSCs, emphasizing its safety and efficacy. It also discusses methods to enhance biomolecule secretion, like preconditioning with electromagnetic fields and hypoxia. Overall, the AT-MSC secretome is identified as a highly effective approach for skin repair with considerable translational potential.
