This review discusses the challenges and advancements in Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) for treating psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, which are chronic inflammatory skin diseases. Traditional topical treatments have low bioavailability due to the skin's barrier, and systemic treatments pose toxicity risks. Novel DDS approaches, such as lipid fusion, stratum corneum hydration, and microchannel construction, enhance drug delivery by overcoming these barriers. These systems also allow for targeted and controlled drug release using stimuli-responsive and biomimetic strategies. The review highlights the potential of DDS to move from symptom management to precise cures, providing a theoretical foundation for future therapeutic developments.
