TLDR Using temgikoluril with alopecia treatment reduces anxiety and improves satisfaction.
The study involving 42 women aged 27-45 with androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata found that anxiety negatively impacts alopecia therapy outcomes. By incorporating the anti-anxiety medication temgicoluril (Adaptol), the treatment group experienced a significant reduction in anxiety levels, as measured by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, compared to the control group. After 12 weeks, both groups showed improved hair condition, but the treatment group had a more substantial reduction in anxiety, highlighting the importance of addressing psychological factors in managing alopecia.
