Review: Formulation And Evaluation Of Various Herbal Hair Growth Shampoos

The review discussed the formulation and evaluation of herbal shampoos for promoting hair growth, highlighting the limitations of synthetic treatments like minoxidil due to side effects. It analyzed various international and national journals to compare 7 herbal shampoo formulas. The study found that different formulas affected the physical evaluation results, with the best formula being a licorice extract shampoo combined with surfactants, meeting established evaluation parameters. Herbal ingredients promoted hair growth through mechanisms such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory effects, increasing hair density, widening hair follicles, extending the anagen phase, providing follicle nutrition, androgen metabolism, PAK1 inhibition, and inducing immunological reactions.
