    This study investigates the role of autocrine signaling in maintaining the hair-inductive capacity of human dermal papilla cells (hDPCs), which are crucial for hair follicle development and the hair cycle. When cultured in vitro, hDPCs tend to lose this capacity, likely due to the absence of their native microenvironment. The research introduces a novel growth model to track hDPC functional recovery, emphasizing the importance of intrinsic feedback loops during the anagen phase. The findings enhance the understanding of hair follicle biology and suggest potential regenerative therapies for hair loss by focusing on the dynamic interplay between hDPC expansion and their hair-inductive abilities.
