TLDR Men with a family history of PCOS have lower sperm concentration and more hair loss.
This study investigated the impact of a family history of PCOS on male reproductive health by analyzing spermiogram parameters in 51 men, 25 with a first-degree relative with PCOS and 26 controls. Results showed that men with a family history of PCOS had significantly lower median sperm concentration and a higher incidence of hair loss (64%) and gynecomastia (25%). Interestingly, dyslipidemia was associated with significantly higher semen concentration and sperm motility. The findings suggest that men with a family history of PCOS exhibit distinct reproductive and metabolic characteristics.
