TLDR Pilomatrixoma is a rare, harmless tumor near the eyebrow in kids, best treated with surgery.
Pilomatrixoma is a rare benign tumor from the hair follicle matrix, often seen in children and adolescents, particularly in the head and neck region. This study reviews cases with pilomatrixoma presenting as painless, mobile masses under the eyebrow. Despite its rarity, with an incidence of 1/824, pilomatrixoma should be considered in diagnosing periocular masses in children. Surgical excision is the preferred treatment, with no postoperative complications reported, although rapid growth was observed in 2 cases.
