TLDR Methyl cellulose makes the most stable Equisetum arvense gel.
The study evaluated the consistency factor of Equisetum arvense (L.) gel formulations using different gelling agents. It was found that gels made with methyl cellulose exhibited the highest consistency factor (220.23 (Pa·s)n) and optimal consistency and homogeneity, compared to those made with hydroxypropyl cellulose or a combination of hydroxypropyl cellulose and pullulan, which were unstable. The results indicate that the choice of gelling agent significantly affects the consistency of the gel formulations.
