This study focuses on the formulation and characterization of a herbal-based antidandruff shampoo using traditional herbs like neem, fenugreek seed, aloe vera, and clove, known for their therapeutic and antimicrobial properties. The shampoo's effectiveness was evaluated through phytochemical screenings and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), confirming the presence of bioactive compounds. Two shampoo formulations were tested for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and antifungal activity against Malassezia furfur, a fungus linked to dandruff. The study's findings highlight the shampoo's stability, quality, and potential therapeutic benefits, offering a promising natural alternative for dandruff treatment.

The study developed a polyherbal anti-dandruff shampoo using medicinal plants such as Azadirachta indica, Ocimum tenuiflorum, and others, known for their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. The shampoo's aqueous extract showed high levels of bioactive compounds like alkaloids and flavonoids, contributing to its effectiveness. The shampoo maintained a pH compatible with scalp health, exhibited significant antioxidant activity, and demonstrated antimicrobial effects against bacteria and fungi responsible for dandruff. This study introduces a finite element analysis (FEA)-guided framework for designing separable bubble microneedles (BMNs) that optimize geometry and cavity parameters for controlled tip separation and robust insertion. The study tested minoxidil sulfate-loaded BMNs (MXS-BMNs) and insulin-loaded BMNs (INS-BMNs) for transdermal and sublingual delivery, respectively. The BMNs demonstrated effective payload release, with over 80% liberated within 10 minutes. In ex vivo tests, MXS-BMNs showed significantly higher minoxidil permeation compared to topical gel, and in vivo tests on mice showed accelerated hair regrowth. INS-BMNs effectively lowered glucose levels in diabetic rats, comparable to subcutaneous injections. This approach reduces empirical iteration, facilitating the development of efficient microneedle systems for rapid drug delivery.
