TLDR 'DPC therapy' could be an effective and affordable option for hair regrowth.
The document reviewed the potential of cell therapy for hair regeneration, highlighting adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs), dermal sheath cup cells (DSCs), and dermal papilla cells (DPCs). ASCs were noted for their accessibility and ability to promote hair growth through paracrine effects, though they lacked hair neogenesis potential. DSCs showed promise with immune tolerance and hair inductivity, having completed phase II clinical trials, but results were not satisfactory. DPCs, despite not being in clinical trials, were emphasized for their potential to create new hair follicles and their immunomodulatory function. The study suggested that 'off-the-shelf' DPC therapy could be an effective and economical option for hair regeneration.
