TLDR Nanotechnology improves skin treatments by enhancing delivery and reducing side effects.
Nanotechnology-based drug formulation and delivery systems are revolutionizing medical aesthetic dermatology by addressing limitations of conventional treatments, such as inadequate skin penetration and stability issues. These nanoscale carriers, including lipid-based systems and polymeric nanoparticles, enhance the delivery and stability of therapeutic agents, improving outcomes in skin rejuvenation, pigmentary disorders, acne, hair restoration, and injectable aesthetics. Emerging evidence indicates better local efficacy and reduced side effects compared to traditional formulations, though more controlled studies are needed. Safety and regulatory considerations are crucial for clinical success, emphasizing the importance of nanotechnology in advancing dermatological therapies.
